Hi Everyone! It's time to get your glow on! It's the time of year for shopping, partying, seeing people you haven't seen in a while, and just wanting to look your best. All of this takes it's toll on our bodies including our skin. Get lots of rest and eat well balanced meals. Include lots of water and don't forget your supplements especially now that the sun is hiding. We need our vitamin D here in the valley in the winter. Unless you hit Big White often, it can feel like being in a pot with the lid on it for 5 months.
Pamper your skin with great products. At the clinic, we all use Cosmedical. It is a great line that was developed by a dermatologist in Florida. Her name is Dr. Loretta Ciraldo. She created a line that can treat many skin-care problems. I highly recommend her book. It is jam packed full of wonderful and useful information on skin, beauty and how to get your best skin possible. She is an amazing wealth of knowledge and speaks about the industry, how it works, and how to best make it work for you. Once you have all of the valuable information she offers, you will want to come in and try this great line. Come in and see us and try it out. It makes a great Christmas gift and you will never want to be without it. We will be carrying skin care starter kits this fall. They are a great way to try the products without putting out money for full sized product. Start with the book and become informed.

The A, B, C, D E's of sun damage, moles and skin changes
A - Asymmetry - watch for irregular shape
B - Border - if it is blurry or fuzzy along the border, and if you are unable to see where the border ends.
C - Color - watch for change in color, uneven color, and a very dark color. Example: a deep blue/black.
D - Diameter - it should be smaller than 5 to 6 mm in size. Example: it should be smaller than the eraser on
the top of a pencil.
E - Elevation - watch if it is partly raised and partly flat, or if it was flat and now is starting to grow up.
If you have any concerns that resemble any of the above descriptions we recommend you have them checked by your doctor. If treated by your general practitioner they are often treated with liquid nitrogen, or removed by excision. Both methods are prone to scarring.
At The De De Pieri Clinic lasers can be used to remove moles with virtually no scarring If the mole or questionable area returns, a biopsy may need to be taken and sent for testing. Medical procedures are often covered by MSP. Lasers are not.
We hope this information is helpful. Well wishes, Laurie and Sandy.

The Beautiful and Natual Soft Lift!
Have you heard about the Soft Lift? Now it is even better thanks to Voluma. Voluma is a wonderful new hyaluronic acid tissue filler from Allergan, trusted maker of Botox and Juvederm. Using a combination of Botox and Voluma, you can soften lines, lift brows and between brows as well as get back volume you may have lost in cheeks, under eyes and along jawline. Your lips may have lost definition and volume also. Get back the natural fullness with Juvederm Ultra. We are all about looking natural here and encourage you to explore the possibilities. We know filler in lips has received some bad publicity in the past as far as looking over done. This DOES NOT have to happen. We like clients to participate in their treatments and encourage their opinion as the treatment progresses. You leave feeling in control and happy, not shocked and horrified. Don't be afraid of Botox and Fillers. In the right hands, you can look rested, refreshed and like your younger sister.
Cheers,
Laurie and Sandy.

Happy Fall! Try IPL!
We hope you are all having a wonderful fall. Lots of people get a bit down this time of year, but we love it. It is a time for renewal, routine, and a bit of time to yourself. The air is fresh and new beginnings are possible! That being said, Fall is a great time to address pigment due to sun damage that you may have acquired from the summer sun. Especially here in the Okanagan where the sun is very intense. You may also have Rosacea or just wish to have some rejuvenation. (Party season is almost upon us). Intense Pulsed Light or IPL is a great way to address all of these things after a summer of fun in the sun. If you have any rough patches on skin or moles that look like they have changed, you might want to have them looked at before sunning season rolls around again. Another great way to lift pigment and get rejuvenation, is with a chemical peel. These can be done on a Friday and you can look great for Monday morning. You can also take advantage of the sunless season with a CO2 Fractional laser resurfacing. Lift pigment, reduce lines, increase volume and get a great lift, that will give back your jawline definition.
We wish you all a happy and bountiful Fall.
Warm Regards,
Laurie and Sandy.
